Design and Technology Curriculum (Curriculum Designer & Leader: Lauren Boylan)

We aim to ensure that all pupils:

• develop the creative, technical and practical expertise needed to perform everyday tasks confidently and to particpate successfully in an increasingly technological world
• build and apply a repertoire of knowledge, understanding and skills in order to design and make high-quality protypes and products for a wide range of users
• critique, evaluate and test their ideas and products and the work of others
• understand and apply the principles of nutrition and learn how to cook.

In the EYFS we use the EYFS framework that is structured differently to the national curriculum as it organised across the seven areas of learning rather than a subject area. Please see the Design and Technology LTP which contains Nursery and Reception planning.

Each unit is accompanied by a Knowledge Mat (click on the curriculum tab). This gives the key learning and vocab that your child is expected to know at the end of the unit.
